Castle Rock (right 169m) and Deliverance Cove at Castle Point on the Wairarapa Coast, North Island, New Zealand. Marram grass in the foreground holding the dune together.
The Wairarapa coast is located on the south-eastern edge of the North Island. Castle Point, the village, is quite a popular tourist/camping and lobster town. Very interesting from a geological sense as well as the South Pacific has done some serious DIY on this part of the coast.

A very hot day and no shade. Here an adult Australasian gannet pants to keep cool. It was a very hot day in the colony with temperatures in the high 30s C.
The gannets (Morus serrator or Sula bassana), also known as Australian gannet and Tākapu are making a comeback at Cape Kidnappers, Hawkes Bay, New Zealand.

Colour version of the view north-eastward across Hawkes Bay toward the Mahia Peninsula and Portland Island (top right) from Cape Kidnappers, New Zealand.
Centre left in that shallow bowl is one of the satellite Australasian Gannet colonies on the Cape. The entire cape promontory is actually a fenced off predator-proof enclosure to protect severely endangered bird and reptile species endemic to NZ. The gannets are doing really well now there are no cats, rats, stoats and weasels infesting the area.
Really struggled with photos taken on this particular day. It was a chance fiddle with an old LR preset that unlocked the potential.

Milking the post-storm light in sheep and cattle country somewhere on Route 50 just north of Tikokino, Hawkes Bay, New Zealand.
The storm had passed and sunshine picked out this scene of typical NZ hill country (with post, poo and sheep) on the road north to Napier.
