Here is the very last image for this series. I guess I found Cape Palliser up to my expectations from a visit several years previous - without a camera! The land, sea and sky meet there in a starkly beautiful way.
This pic is looking westward into the incessant wind along Mangatoetoe beach.
I took a long time to choose between the colour version and this one - finally settling on the mono as this is must be what it's like on a seascaped moon somewhere else in the Universe.

Other points of interest - St Georges church spire is backlit by the hail. Battery Point (once a working class slum) is named for an 18th century battery intended to keep the Russians from taking possession of the fledgling colony of Hobart Town on the shores of the River Derwent River, in what was once Van Diemans Land.

I drove through there on a windy day but the colour and movement in the grass just here beside the Ben Lomond Rivulet caused me to stop for a while.

Nile is a tiny farming hamlet with barley, oats, sorghum, poppies, sheep and cattle. Irrigated sections are plenty and there are some pretty big operations here.
Teasel seems to grow in strips along the sides of roads or fences. While it is still a weed, it's not as common or damaging as scotch thistle or the wretched gorse but was no doubt introduced along with sheep from England in the settlement of Van Diemans Land.
