North Face of the Skessuhorn (964m). The mountain dominates the eastern side of the Skarðsheiði range inland from Borgarnes.
Taken from near the junction of Route 50 and the F507.

The internet probably doesn't need another sunset photo but... looking across the Borgarfjörður to the town of Borgarnes.
A truly brilliant sunset afterglow with superb visibility to the north and the mountainous roots of the Snaefellsnes Peninsula beyond the prominent church - Borgarneskirkja.
Shot from the grounds of Hotel Hafnarfjall. Unfortunately the Snaefellsjokull volcano itself is just out of site to the left of the frame - but there is more than enough glaciated volcanology behind the town to keep me happy :-)

Heading south through the Kaldidalur toward Þingvellir on the F550 - you come across the occasional water of Sandkluftavatn over which looms Ármannsfell (764m).
The lake clearly holds more water than in this pic - probably in Spring - but as the valley floor is solely ash and tephra, the water simply drains away. The ground is incredibly fragile - note how some self-absorbed heros have decided to drive on the surface.
The F550 rolls right through the frame - I took a photo from the other side of the hills at the left back in 2015 - pic in the comments below.

I posted a black and white version of this pic of Brekkufjall (409m) a little while ago.
I think I prefer this slightly tighter crop of the formation in splendid late-afternoon light.

Öxarárfoss waterfall in Þingvellir National Park, Iceland. The river Öxará falls over the crest of the Almannagjá gorge into a rift valley and the home of Icelandic Parliament, the Althing or Alþingi in Icelandic.
Founded in 930 - the Althing stands as a beacon - in the narcissistic twitterverse - of democracy and the rule of law.
The mid-Atlantic ridge and plate boundary should also serve as a reminder that we are less than mould on the pizza crust of time.
The waterfall is one of the main attractions of Þingvellir National Park and I would have been sharing the wooden viewing platform with about 50 odd members of the nomadic, Selfie Stick Warrior tribe...
Anyway, the light was nice :-)
