One of the huge torii outside the main entrance of the Shinto, shrine and temple complex of Fushimi Inari Taisha. Kyoto, Japan.
The Fushimi Inari shrine covers an entire mountain and is dedicated to Inari - the Shinto god of rice.
Was simply gobsmacked by the colour of the partially shaded torii against the sky.

From the window of the bus* heading into Kamikōchi valley - Chūbu-Sangaku National Park, Nagano Prefecture Japan.
Taisho Pond on the Azusa River in the foreground and Mt Hotaka (3190m) the peak in the cloud at left.
This wonderful park was only a week away from closure for the year and while the peak Autumn colours had passed it was still extremely vibrant with bright orange in the Beech, Larch and Maple forests.
Kamikōchi itself is a high mountain valley at altitude ~1500m and about 18k in length. My terraforming radar suggests is largely glaciated volcanics and up-thrusts - noting that Taisho Pond was caused by an eruption of Mt Yake (out of shot) around 1915 which dammed the Azusa River.
I'm unsure of the activity on the river but noting the pile driving barge with a supply of piles - most likely a bridge or landing/viewing platform is planned. Kamikōchi is very busy - look at the crowd on the sand bank near the barge - providing infrastructure for huge numbers must be a challenge.

*sharpness suffered a bit due to shooting through the toughened glass window in the bus. The dark band in the sky left of the saddle is also an artefact of the glass I think.
