A colour/portrait version of Guide Falls on the Guide River, North West Tasmania.
A very attractive waterfall that is a leisurely amble from the car park and is surrounded by lawns and numerous picnic spaces.
Pretty lucky with the lighting. The falls themselves were in shadow but the chasm opens out just behind the camera and the surrounding landscape was in bright sunlight - plenty of available light without too much contrast.

The lower section of Liffey Falls on the River Liffey in northern Tasmania.
Not a lot of water about and amazingly for a waterfall in Tasmania - it doesn't have a huge tree in the middle of it!
The falls are in three distinct sections accessible by a very pleasant walk through remnant rainforest into the river gorge. At one point the surrounding forest was due to be logged but sanity prevailed and a reserve was established. Posted another pic of the middle section a while ago.

The iconic Skógafoss waterfall in South Iceland.
I know the waterfall has been shot to death by everyone that's been there - it's not hard to miss! Some other folks frames I have seen are just extraordinary! However, I had a strong reason to revisit this one of mine. I went looking for it again after recently doing more LE work with my new/old lightweight walking camera - Fuji X-T1 Graphite edition.
The frame dates from September 2015 on our first visit to Iceland. We arrived at the waterfall well after sunset, there was only a little light and a little colour remaining in the sky. The LE I took back then left me really disappointed. It was dark, it was flat, it was really noisy in the shadows, the colour was all over the shop. I hated it and came very close to ditching it. I was not in love with the camera either...
Five years later and it seems that patience is indeed its own reward... I'm a little happier with it now, even if it is a moody, brooding frame but it is much closer to what I remember - the way the waterfall just hangs there in its chasm and dominates your senses. The remainder of the frame is OK now too - even the faint blush in the sky and those two blokes getting soaked.
One thing I can't fix is the OOF foreground - that was a whole other learning all about hyperfocal distance and f-stops...

The lower section of Liffey Falls in northern Tasmania in the pouring rain.
The waterfall is actually in three distinct sections accessible by a very pleasant walk descending through remnant, temperate rainforest into the river gorge. At one point the surrounding forest was due to be logged but sanity prevailed and a reserve was established. Posted a wider pic of this section a little while ago.
Can't seem to get the colour versions to work as well as the mono...

A very big 'Thank You' to everyone that views, faves and comments on my work! It's really appreciated :-)

Russell Falls in Mount Field National Park, Tasmania.
This very pretty waterfall is situated almost at the entrance to Mount Field National Park.
Access is by a flat, 10 min wheelchair accessible path from the visitor centre.
Best viewed after heavy rain, the water fall is around 40m in height with two successive wedding-cake cascades. The base of the falls are surrounded by a delightful, ferny glade containing an excellent viewing platform. The catchment for the creek is quite modest and despite there being heavy rain two days before, the flow wasn't as heavy as I'd hoped. Even so, the thin veil makes for an attractive counterpoint to the cliffs and greenery.
This is not the best pic I took on the day - the best is on the phone but has terrible resolution. I'll be heading back one day soon to shoot it properly for a brooding mono I have in mind.
I also aim to do a Milky Way core pic from there in a few months!
