Artist Blacksmith, Pete Mattila on the hammer in his Hobart studio.
Workpiece in the foreground is an industrial fire surround for a local business. I have the pleasure of making some component parts.
Leica Q2M, Summilux 28/1.7, 1/60th sec, f/2.8, ISO 200.
Make it big for loads of detail!
A very big 'Thank You' to everyone that views, faves and comments on my work! I really appreciate your visit :-)

Tasmania Police Patrol Vessel, Vigilant.
Bludging at anchor in Waubs Bay, Bicheno, Tasmania.
Designed and built by Ray Kemp, the Vigilant was launched in 1971 and has operated as an auxiliary patrol craft since then. She's 52' at the waterline and constructed from the superior boat-building timber, Huon Pine, which species is endemic to Tasmania.
A nice evening to be down by the water - apart from filling the boots up a little...

Number 18 in a rather motley collection of 33 old boathouses along the southern shore of Cornelian Bay on the Derwent River. Tasmania. The timber constructions date from mid-last century and extend out from the shore on wooden piles. Despite having no amenities beyond electricity and running water, they are quite sought after.
I'd rather spend 300k on a few years in Iceland :-)
