Since May 2023, the UK Home Office is leasing this DHC-8 C-GFMX from PAL Aerospace. The aircraft is used for maritime surveillance and especially to find small boats with illegal immigrants. The Home Office is leasing the Dash for a period of eighteen months.
Originally, this Dash was delivered to Rheintalflug as OE-LRZ in March 1996. In July 2000 it became V2-LFF of Caribbean Star Airlines and moved to LIAT (with the same registration) in 2007. On 1 December 2016 it was acquired by PAL Aerospace and converted into a surveillance aircraft. Since then, it's used by PAL for various customers like the Home Office now.
