Class 68 locomotive No. 68021 Tireless approaches Droitwich Spa station with 5Q94, the 07:57 Longsight to Long Marston empty stock working on Thursday 11th January 2024. The rake of 'Nova3' Mk5A coaches, formerly operated by TransPennine Express, is being taken to Long Marston for storage. The "68" would return to Crewe light engine later that afternoon.

Note that the home signal at the junction for the Kidderminster road is "off" for the imminent departure of 2D55 (11:40 Worcester Foregate Street to Stratford-upon-Avon service), which could have caused a problem for this shot but thankfully didn't.

Class 37 locomotive No. 37800 passes through Hartlebury station with 5Q79, the 07:58 Allerton Depot to Newport Docks working on Wednesday 7th February 2024. In tow is Class 319 electric multiple unit No. 319369, on its way to its final destination at the Sims Metal scrapyard.

Meanwhile Class 350 electric multiple unit No. 350258 waits at platform 1 with 2I32, the 13:50 service to Birmingham International via Walsall.

I had just scored some new track: from Lichfield Trent Valley to Rugeley Trent Valley. That just left me with one missing piece from the entire West Coast Main Line between London Euston and Glasgow Central still to be done (the section between Lichfield Trent Valley and Rugby). Surprising, I know, for someone who's been a railway enthusiast (on and off) for over fifty years.
