Many of the 5-10,000 Sandhill Cranes seen on Monday seems to have moved on South. Probably less than 1000 had been along the river near CR 25E, North of Ewing earlier in the day but were put into flight by dogs hunting Coyotes along the river (2nd hand report). When we arrived shortly after noon there were 100's circling high in the sky and none on the ground throughout the Ewing Bottoms area. Almost no standing water in the corn fields in the bottoms. Drove over to Medora to check along the river there and saw only a few high in the sky seeming to continue their flight South.
