These 2 Whooping Cranes, first seen before Thanksgiving, remain in the corn fields West of Austin Indiana. First segment taken with a 500mm lens and 1.4 extender; the second with a 2X extender.

In the tree line above the flooded corn field in a Heron Rookery where Whooping Cranes 23-10 and 26-10 have been observed since before Thanksgiving. Video recorded with a 500mm lens and 2x Extender, 1000mm, at a distance of over 400 yards. Last week, 2 adult eagles were in the same tree line.

They started off in a tree on separate limbs and moved to a very small Great Blue Heron nest where one moved on in just seconds. Watched the one that got there first move some sticks around.....a little nest building practice?
