Starting to learn a bit more about this new camera. Figured out how to set up Back Button Focus, now I just need to remember to use it!
Figured out that with the 50mm you need to focus on the eyes when you're up close and personal.
Figured out that Ozzie is a lazybones and this is his idea of exercise!
Next idea is to make a pano shot with the 50mm. Take several individual shots that overlap and throw them into a stitching program like Hugin. We'll see if that comes to fruition.

When we asked her what she would like to do on her birthday she said she would like to eat lunch at the local casino. We went for lunch and she walked away with $100 US in winnings!
As you can certainly see I'm still working out the focusing on this new setup.

Yesterday was my Mom's 90th birthday. What a great opportunity to try out the new camera! As you can see Mom was not pleased at having her photo taken (several times) but it was a good day all in all.

Grabbed a shot of the wife as she was neck deep in her school work. This was with the 50mm, I'm seeing now why it's known as the "Nifty Fifty". One thing I've noticed is that this lens forces you to look at your shots, not just spray and pray!

Another shot of the old man with my new lens. Trying to figure out just how the DOF works and getting the focus in the right spot. Practice, practice, practice! Luckily Ozzie is a lazy sod who doesn't mind the camera up in his mug! That's one thing about this lens, your feet are your zoom and it forces you to get up close and personal with your subject!
