The TWA Flight Center designed by Eero Saarinen and built in 1962 is entered through a long tube - the walls are curved and a red carpet dominates the space.

The TWA terminal closed in October 2001. As part of the 13th Annual Open House New York event the terminal was open to the public for the last time before it undergoes renovations and becomes the first on site hotel at JFK International Airport.

This past weekend Saturday October 17 and Sunday October 18 was the 13th Annual Open House New York event. One of the highlights involved traveling out to JFK airport - a long subway ride on the E train and then a transfer to the Air Train. It was worth it - you'll see as I post photos in the next few days.
