Finally saw the Mandarin Duck in Central Park - he mysteriously appeared last month, disappears periodically and then returns. Mandarin Ducks are not native to the United States, no area zoos have reported any missing but this one has a band on his leg so either he was someone's pet or managed to escape from somewhere. In any case he's beautiful
