A rather surprising find in Woodlawn Cemetery - a wild turkey.

This hawk flew about 10 feet in front of me as I was walking and then settled into a nearby tree. It was like he saw me with a camera and wanted to make sure I took his photo. Woodlawn Cemetery

According to the internet seeing a deer in a cemetery evokes a sense of a spiritual presence or a message from the beyond. Personally, I think this beautiful deer wandered south of his home in Westchester and we happened to cross paths with each other.

This red-tailed hawk was sitting on top of a small mausoleum in Woodlawn Cemetery. He kept looking down into the shurbs along the side of the mausoleum and at one point jumped down to get a closer look but whatever he was waiting for stayed safe and hidden. The hawk let me get close enough to take photos and when I walked away he was still sitting patiently waiting for lunch.
