New York Botanical Garden's orchid show is inspired by the designs of Mexican modernist architect Luis Barragan.
This display titled "Lover's Fountain" is inspired by Barragan's fountain of the same name created for a private subdivision in Mexico City called Los Clubes, designed for the residents' enthusiasm for equestrianism.

This underground tunnel connects the two wings of the Haupt Conservatory. It was first decorated with lights for Jeff Leatham's "Kaleidoscope" orchid show in 2020. That show was cut short due to covid shutdowns and eventually returned in 2021. Ever since that show the New York Botanical Garden has decorated this passageway in one form or another.
