The main reason for our visit to York was to go for a helicopter ride that was bought for Neil's 60th by Mary's son and his partner. It was 18 months ago but this was the first opportunity to take it and it was worth the wait. A great experience.

We had a couple of days in York last week some lovely pubs and great beers. Trembling Madness on Stonegate is a quirky bar that does great beers and amazing sharing platters. Steady Rolling Man is a a nice pale , 5.2%

We had a couple of days in York last week some lovely pubs and great beers. The Shambles Tavern is a great little pub on the Shambles with locally brewed beer and a warm welcome. It is easy to miss as it is opposite the York Ghost Shop which always seems to have long queues down the middle of the street.

The helicopter is a Bell Jetranger and we went up to 1500 ft at 110mph.
