On Monday, April 23, 2018, Oklahoma Governor Mary Fallin traveled to Northwestern Oklahoma to survey the damage done by more than a week of wildfires. Maj. Gen. Michael C. Thompson, the adjutant general for Oklahoma; Oklahoma Insurance Commissioner, John Doak; and the Director of Oklahoma Department of Emergency Management, Albert Ashwood, accompanied Gov. Fallin. In Oklahoma’s Dewey and Woodward counties, more the 350,000 acres have burned, consuming an estimated 100 homes and killing at least two people and more than 100 head of livestock.Photo by Maj.
