Soldiers from Battery A, 1st Battalion, 158 Field Artillery (FA) participate in a going away ceremony for their upcoming deployment to Afghanistan.
The ceremony took place on Thursday, August 22nd, at 10:00 a.m. at the Rinehart Gymnasium located at 2730 Bragg Road on Ft. Sill in Lawton, Okla.
The unit will deploy in support of Operation Enduring Freedom with nearly 80 Oklahoma Army National Guard Soldiers. The 158 FA will also include members of Battery B, 171 Target Acquisition Battery (TAB) and 120th Forward Support Company (FSC). While deployed, they will provide fire support capabilities using the High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems (HIMARS), the first time since Operation Desert Shield, Desert Storm.
