The conductor had to walk ahead and stop traffic for the local on its way out of town. Once on a busy New York Central mainline, South Troy is now served by one daily CSX local, B763. 10 years ago, GE U36Bs and Super-7s frequently lead trains. Today, General Motors / EMD GP40-2s haul salt, wine, and grain into town. A chevy squarebody pickup waits for its its bigger cousin to pass.
