RSPB Bempton Cliffs Nature Reserve
One of England's top wildlife attractions.
Each year over 250,000 seabirds flock to the cliffs between Bempton and Flamborough to find a mate and raise their young.
From April to August the cliffs are alive with nest-building adults and young chicks taking their first faltering steps.
Between mid-April and mid-July the much-loved and elusive Puffin makes its home here.
From February to October thousands of Gannets nest on the cliffs of the only mainland Gannetry in England.
Bempton also has the largest Kittiwake colony in mainland Britain.

Hurricane
LF363 (MK IIC)
LF363 was built at the Hawker factory at Langley near Slough. It first flew in January 1944 and is believed to be the last Hurricane to enter service with the RAF.
The aircraft served with No 63 Squadron at Turnhouse, No 309 (Polish) Squadron at Drem, where it was used on shipping protection patrols off the east coast of Scotland, and No 26 Squadron with whom it flew naval artillery spotting and reconnaissance sorties before the end of the War.
There are two Hurricanes on the Memorial Flight.
Lancaster
PA474
One of only two Lancaster aircraft remaining in airworthy condition out of the 7,377 that were built (the other is in Canada with the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum at Hamilton, Ontario).
PA474 rolled off the production line at the Vickers Armstrong Broughton factory at Hawarden Airfield, Chester on 31 May 1945, just after the war in Europe came to an end, so she was prepared for use against the Japanese as part of the ‘Tiger Force’.
The war in the Far East also ended before she was deployed and she did not take part in any hostilities.
PA474 completed a ‘major’ servicing at Duxford across the winter of 2016-17.
Spitfire
Mk.XVle
Flying in the colours of TD240, SZ-G, Group.Captain Aleksander Gabszewicz of No.316 (Polish) Squadron, No.131 Polish Wing, RAF
Produced in greater numbers than any other British combat aircraft before or since the War, 20,341 Spitfires were built in 22 different variants (excluding the navalised Seafire) and the aircraft remained in production for 12 years.
The prototype’s maiden flight took place on 5th March 1936 and Mk1 Spitfires entered RAF service (with No 19 Squadron) in August 1938.
There are six Spitfires on the Memorial Flight.
