One of Dad's pictures of his classmates at the Defense Language Institute at the Presidio in late 1947. One is a captain; he may not be a Nisei like the other enlisted men. I am positive this was taken as they prepared to ship out to Occupied Japan. They were all part of the G-2's Military Intelligence Service.

These photos of Dad in his 8th US Army uniform were found in a tattered old box of his. They are clearly in Japan and to me, they may have been taken on the same day. I also suspect this is in Hiroshima where half our family lived before and after the atomic bombing.

Closeup of Dad's absolutely pristine "Soldier's Permanent Pass - Class A" issued him while attending the Military Intelligence Service Language School in Monterey, CA. Now called #DLIFLC.
