This is the only representative of the Arum family native to the Pacific Northwest. It does exude a skunk-like odour, not entirely unpleasant. Near Victoria, BC, it is already blooming in wet woodland areas. For this shot I spread the tripod legs wide and as low as I could collapse them, and pushed a wide angle lens close to one plant.
