A morning hike to Smith Springs, above the Frijole Ranch in Guadalupe Mountains National Park, Texas. Another outtake from my brief visit to this wonderful park. I wasn't happy with the shot at first because I could not get any closer to those golden flowers on the rocky slope - I would have liked to fill the frame with them. This was a classic case of expectations blocking me from seeing. Looking at the shot again, nearly 8 years later, I can see it has a nice balance.
