Getting close to the end of the current set of archival material; last one tomorrow. We're still in Vancouver with this shot from 40 years ago. Granville Street, at the north end of the Granville Bridge (barely glimpsed at the right). I recall drinking at the Cecil Hotel back in the 1970s, and the Yale and a few other downtown watering holes. I was never much of a drinker, though.
It was just by chance that I saw the golden light on this row of buildings. I haven't been back to this location for many years, so it must have changed - at least a little, probably a lot. I really wish I'd understood back then that I was walking through a vanishing urban landscape; I would have made a greater effort to capture it. But life can't be lived retrospectively, and I can live with my choices. I did come away with a few keepers.

Pam was one of my favourite photo subjects in the 1970s and 1980s. It was more than her natural beauty, sense of style (in a manner of speaking), and general cuteness (which she appeared to disdain) - but that she was willing. We used to hang out in Vancouver and I could point my camera at her any time, any place, and she never told me to stop. What a gift! Thanks, Pambi!!!
