Took a stroll in the sunshine down to watch the latest royal visit... Running about 15 late and with an energetic driver doing his best to make that up. A gleaming 6201 'Princess Elizabeth' scampers along the North Staffs approaching Scropton with a Tyseley to Chester railtour.

Shame that steam specials tend to head in the down direction in the morning on the N Staffs and back up in the evening, both into the sun!

Whilst waiting for 6201 to pass, three of Dr S's class 37's (37069, 37602 & 37603) speed past the old unloading dock for the Scropton Tramway.

Having been tipped off about it's passing, wandered down to my local station to watch 6233 'Duchess of Sutherland' pass through with a couple of coaches en route from Butterley to Crewe.

Unfortunately, unlike the neighbouring boxes, Tutbury Crossing box didn't receive the same sympathetic treatment when the new windows were installed recently.

Trying out my new camera, took a stroll down to Scropton to test it out on some moving objects. One of East Midlands Trains' 153 'dog boxes' passing Scropton's leafy glade with 1K16, 14.07 Crewe to Derby on the afternoon of 6th July 2011.
