I went to Ottawa particularly to photograph Snowy Owls, hoping to also get a chance to photograph Great Gray Owls. Barred Owls I did not expect but they are apparently as abundant there as in Florida. I didn’t want to miss a chance to photograph them in the snow and got very lucky to find them easily. This guy is about to land in the snow. (Strix varia) (Sony a1M2, 200-600 lens @ 295mm, 1/2500 second, f/6.3, ISO 5000)
