In Mitchell, South Dakota. The first Corn Palace was in 1892. Current building is 3rd. Each year it's decorated with a new theme, except during depression and WWI & WWII and Mitchell's Centennial Year. Made of native corn (275,000 ears cut in half), rye, milo, oat heads and sour dock. Scenes are drawn on black roofing paper and are marked where each of 11 colors of corn are nailed, like in a corn-by-number style.
