Ironically, as they presented the BBC Sky at Night and Stargazing Live TV programmes over three successive nights, live from the Jodrell Bank telescope, a major topic they discussed was the amount of light pollution in our skies. This they discussed without realising that having floodlit the massive telescope for the programme, they had, themselves, caused by far the greatest light pollution in the area!

Taken just before the show started. Unhelpfully they swung the telescope round 180 degrees just as I was taking some long exposure shots...so the telescope is not as sharp as I would have liked - for something so huge it rotates surprisingly fast!
