This is a fluid landscape where no cloud or land feature can stay still for too long. Nothing is permanent at the remote place favoured by migratory shorebirds and people who like their personal space. After all, sand is semi-liquefied rock.
I looked across the dunes. They were given extra volume by the late sun. The serene light was fractured by the visiting clouds, which kept their share of it. Rather tired after a long walk my feet were moving by the share power of inquisitiveness.
One can expect the unusual at the location where winds regularly rearrange scenery, but the peculiar barefoot character approaching from behind the dunes carrying three pairs of jandals on a stick, still came as a surprise. He passed near me without raising his head and vanished in the distance.
Not all of us who walk are going somewhere specific, not all who search do it to find.
