The spectacularly set Tiger's Nest, or Taktshang Goemba monastery/temple, is reached by two or three hours of steep track climbing. It perches clinging to a rock face high above Paro, hanging onto what looks from afar like a sheer vertical cliff. The site has long been recognised as a holy place and is a pilgrimage target.
