Another from the wonderful morning up at Seaham
It's hard to imagine the pier being used by fishermen on less turbulent days
The light that broke through the clouds was an added bonus after the numerous showers beforehand
These are the days that make photography special for me
We all have different likes, some big vistas, some mountains, some woodland, wildlife, macro, flowers, to name but a few.
I often think no matter what you do, it reflects in what you produce, if you love doing it

Had a wonderful early morning start down on the headland this morning
I'd spotted a few twinkling stars as I'd peered out of the window, so hoped at last for a bit of fine weather - rain
Well it didn't bode well as on the journey down, the heavens opened and on arrival we spent a fair amount of time just sitting in the car, hoping as daylight broke the rain would stop
We finally ventured out, taking a peek toward the pier as the waves rolled in
It was bitterly cold, yes winter is on it's way. Four layers and I was still feeling it!
As usual I had a few plans/ideas but also as usual down came the rain. So heavy we retreated back to the car. That was the story of the morning, venture out and retreat. Then luckily we got a blast of light, as the sun broke through the darkened clouds
This is a capture taken fairly early on. You can see the industrial lights across the bay toward Teesside
I quite like how this wave divided in two, like a bird spreading it's wings. A slower shutter speed helps emphasise the movement

When we arrived at Seaham, it was pretty overcast with a small break in the clouds, so my thought of any colour pretty much faded
As time passed, the wind picked up (me almost literally)
Then the heavens opened but luckily the well prepared plastic carrier bag came in useful
Then shortly after the soaking that light appeared though the break in the clouds. It had a yellow glow and seemed to enhance the waves beautifully
To the right of the image, the rain still falling as it drifts out to sea
What a fabulous morning, so glad I made it out
