German Federal Railways (DB) 117-012 stands in Munich station, 27th September 1976.

Locomotive History
Discovering information on this class of locomotive has not been easy and any further information gratefully received. Originally Class E17 of the Deutsche Reichsbahn thirty eight locomotives were built by AEG in 1923. They had a 1’DO1’ wheel arrangement, weighed 112 tons and had a top speed of 120kph. They were numbered E17-001 to E17-014 and E17-101 to E17-124. It would appear that only twenty six locomotives survived World War Two to join the German Federal Railways (DB) fleet. They were renumbered from E17 to 117 during 1968 and the last examples were withdrawn in 1978.
