Emerging from the undergrowth that seems to have taken over this part of Warrington Arpley yard is the first of what turned out to be many, DB Cargo 66001. It is departing from the DB Cargo depot light engine to Halewood to work 6O42, 11:30 Halewood – Southampton Eastern Docks, 5th March 2019. Now over twenty years old it does not seem anything like that long since it first arrived in the UK in April 1998, forerunner to around five hundred further locomotives.

DB Cargo 66004 ambles through Attenborough with the 12:56 Immingham – Ketton formed of MEA wagons loaded with coal, 21st April 2016. It will take the road round to Toton at Attenborough Junction and recess in the yard until early the following morning.
