Leyland Atlantean AN68/1R ORC 545P stands in the sun at the Nottingham Heritage Centre, Ruddington, 29th June 2013. It currently carries the standard 1970s Nottingham City Transport livery although it was never operated by Nottingham City Transport. It entered service in 1976 with Northern General, fleet number 3299 and with the registration MPT 299P. Whilst with Northern General it spent most of its career working from Gateshead garage. 3299 was sold in 1987 to the Oxford Bus Company who allocated the fleet number 696 and it operated from Kidlington garage until withdrawn in 1992 and sold for scrap. However it gained a reprieve and was purchased by Trent for tree lopping duties and was re-registered YRC 194. In 1996 it was acquired by the Nottingham Heritage Centre, converted to a full “open top” double decker and re-registered again ORC 545P.

60019 Port of Grimsby and Immingham comes under the High Level Goods lines and approaches Meadow Lane level crossing at Trent with 6E59, Kingsbury – Lindsey empty oil tanks, 24th June 2013.

Locomotive History
60019 was built at the Brush Falcon works, Loughborough in 1991 and was officially accepted by British Rail in December 1990, allocated to Immingham. I first saw 60019 at the Falcon works on the 1st August 1990. It was first stored on the 10th February 2005 and has since then been in and out of store on a regular basis until taken into Toton in January 2012 for a General overhaul. It emerged in July 2012 and following a couple of test runs and a repaint into DB Schenker red was reinstated to traffic on the 20th July 2012.
