I was delighted to find that my holiday hotel in Olhao, Portugal was a short walk away from the local railway line. This allowed a bit of railway photography between lounging around on a sun bed beside the pool, eating lots of food, drinking a few beers and generally relaxing with my wife and friends. I quickly obtained the time table off the internet so could time my railway excursions with minimum “disruption” to the rest of the holiday activities. The down side was that the Algarve local service was operated by ten class 0450 two car diesel multiple units and these were the only class of train I was to see all week. Seen here on the 22nd September 2014 is 0456 approaching the outskirts of Olaho working train 5713, 13:49 Faro – Tavira. On thing that surprised me was the amount of graffiti on the rolling stock as seen here.
