The Second Reformed Church was created on October 31, 1855. The first services were held in the “Church on the Green”. Shortly thereafter the first church building was erected in 1856 on State and Berry Streets on land donated by Mrs. Maria Berry and her family. This first building was burned to the ground on Easter Sunday in 1907. The cornerstone of the present church building was laid on June 21, 1908. It had a parsonage that have since been sold. The church is constructed of field stones from the stone walls of nearby farms. In 1965 an administrative wing was added to the church. The local Boyscout troop used the church basement as a troop home, and even used the long basement under the sanctuary as a shooting range.
In 1991 the New Community Church of Teaneck was merged into the Second Reformed Church.

Schraalenburgh North Church, also known as North Church and as The Old North Reformed Church or Old Reformed Church, was founded 1801 as a Dutch Reformed Church, in present day Dumont, Bergen County, New Jersey, United States. The congregation was made up of those who originally were members of the South Schraalenburgh Church.
I was lucky enough to get th chance to photograph the Old North Church in Dumont.I had a preconceived notion that it would not be a good church to photograph.Was I wrong!The light was beautiful.The place was overly neat & organized.The people at the church were very friendly & helpful.More images to follow.
