Hey, another enormous "THANKS" for all the comments, faves, invites, etc, on the previous photo.

I've been super busy due to starting a new job....been pretty much tied up the entire week, so looks like Flickr will have to be a once-a-week thing... other than the holidays... and until things slow down.....

Have a great weekend (whatever's left of it).

Thanks to all of you for your comments and faves!

I spent a few hours until sunset just exploring the land. Burned more gasoline than I planned. Found some interesting places. Also learned that much of the water access is already claimed by rich folks who have their houses built there. I wonder if I knocked on their doors and asked if I could take some shots of the river from their docks if they would let me or chase me away...

Ended up here, a new place for me. Can't believe this was the first time I've been here. When I saw the colors in the sky, I tried my best to get setup as quickly as possible. There was one other guy with a camera and tripod who had the same idea. The weather was phenomenal! Constant gentle breeze. Perfect temperature. Hard to leave.

I don't do many shots like these, so some improvements in my methods could be used, but it was a learning experience and an inspiration to do more. If you have any advice or constructive criticism, please share. Thanks.

On another note, I was able to finally use my new Dolica tripod to the fullest. I really needed one that was light, could get really low to the ground, have nice quality and features, but not cost over $100, like the Manfrotto I was thinking about... Quality is great. We'll just have to wait and see how long it lasts....

Looking forward to the next exploration. ;)

Skilled musicians were at the venue to play their stringed instruments before during various parts of the wedding. Oh forgot to mention, these were both shot in natural light on a porch. They were both right across from each other on the porch walkway.

Thanks so much for your comments and faves!

This view on the road was amazing-- pure overwhelming white. Main adjustments are: increased black on the road and added texture.

Another shot from the Smoky Mountains...getting closer to sunset. At first, was worried about the composition of this. However, it has recently occurred to me that you just have to work with what you got. Here was a clearing on the way up the mountain (to Clingman's Dome) and the sunlight was spectacular. It provided a backlight to the shrubs in a way that I had to just stop and get this.

I wonder if I could see this sunset out my back porch everyday if it would come to bore me as time passed. ...don't think so......
