Okay, I admit, I'm just showing off my new beanie and it probably won't be the most exciting photo you will see on Flickr today. ;) I like to browse through the Clymb's website from time to time and when I saw this beanie, I had to have it.... :D

If you're interested in the lighting info, a house light from the top, and a continuous studio light from the front through a white umbrella was used to light the subject.

I skipped homework to bring this shot to you! ha ha.... :D

Any constructive criticisms or thoughts are welcomed. I don't require praise only (although I'm not against that either), but I do like to know your honest thoughts... that goes for all my work.

Back in March 2012, I attempted to use one of my photos to illustrate a small portion of Kipling's poem, "If—". Katrin Ray made a comment regarding what I would do with the phrase used here for the title, and since then, I've really wanted to pursue that idea, but never had the time. :( Well, now I'm on fall break and my trigger finger has been twitching to shoot SOMETHING, so I thought I would give it a go! :)

I know there could be many interpretations of this image and the portion of the poem, and I had other ideas, but we'll just leave it at that... ;) Take from it what you will.

Simple Lighting Setup:
One bare flash (manual at 1/128 power) about 6 feet in front of subject, bounced off silver reflector to add fill light on the body of subject.

Thought I would toss in a curve from the previous sunshine theme.... This was an outtake from the floating apples image. I've always kinda liked it so....

Lighting Setup:
1) SB-600, 1/2 CTO, behind 1/8" Honl grid, front left of subject at about 6 ft away; about 3 ft above subject height. M 1/16 power, 24mm zoom.
2) SB-600, Full CTO, behind 35" shoot through umbrella, about 4ft right of subject. M 1/32 power, 24mm zoom. Both flashes wirelessly triggered via CLS..

What? I dunno.....

Well this isn't all that high on the creativity scale, but after a few different failed attempts with other ideas, I decided to take the easy way out. I don't know, my head was just.... I didn't really have any SOLID ideas and I find that most times, unless I have a solid idea in my head as to what exactly I want to do, time just gets wasted. .

I spent like over an hour on lighting another idea, and when that miserably failed I moved to the next, which bored me to death.... Finally decided to toss the lights and just shoot something rather spontaneous. So.... whatever.... blah, blah, blah......

I honestly would rather someone else in front of the lens, but that's hardly ever possible or convenient, so I'm stuck with myself for now... That's just life....
