Burkeville has many catalpa trees planted on its streets. They were all planted in the early forties when this little subdivision was first created for Boeing employees during the war, so they were just saplings and probably weren't very impressive. They are now splendid giants that provide shade and beauty to this lovely old neighbourhood plus gorgeous scented flowers in July and homes for squirrels and birds. I must remember to come here next summer to enjoy them in full bloom.
