An oldie but a goodie, our traditional Christmas brunch is yeast raised waffles with strawberries and whipped cream and lots of yummy bacon. Our cat likes the whipped cream. My waffle batter is percolating away downstairs as I post this, I wish you all a lovely day with family and friends :)

I have very few photos of me at Christmas, this one is my favourite. I am sitting on my grampa's lap in their new home that he built. I thought it was a palace. That year I had received the most beautiful doll. She was an Italian bisque beauty that I named Annette. For my sister and I, going to my grandparents was the highlight of our Christmas day. All the family would gather there to eat, drink and be merry. I see my hair is curled, I had probably spent the whole night before tossing and turning because of the nasty curlers that were torturing my scalp, but in those days girls were expected to be girly. I can see in the background a pair of china cats in front of the fireplace. I now have the grey one, my sister has the white one. So many memories.....
