A tiny (wingspan 9-14mm) golden moth with a few purple dots.

I very nearly overlooked this and found it difficult to photograph. This is a heavily cropped image and flash was used because in the dull early morning light it lacked its characteristic metallic sparkle.

It's also on an egg box. Not very pretty!

Swarms of these beautiful little moths were gathered around an oak tree in the sunshine today. The combination of metallic wings and such long antennae was very eye-catching.

Kirkby Pits, Lincolnshire.

This golden micro moth, Adela reaumurella, is all over the place at the moment. This is a female - the male's antennae are even longer!

Handheld, natural light, some cropping (tricky with those antennae!).

A really pretty little longhorn moth. Not particularly common, but locally a few have been spotted in the Chambers Farm Wood area (which was where I saw this one). If I hadn't been checking most umbellifer flower heads for insects as I pottered along, I'd have easily overlooked this.
