Stupa of Swayambhunath (aka "Monkey Temple"), a temple complex in western Kathmandu, Nepal. The site is essentially Buddhist, but the place is revered by both Buddhists and Hindus. The Eyes of Buddha, painted on all sides of the stupa, symbolize the Buddha's wisdom seeing all things. The prayers and mantras on the prayer flags are supposed to be spread by the wind, carrying good will and compassion.
