I was desperate for a piece of delicious soft chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream. But I did’t wanna buy it at supermarkets or bakeries/cafes. There are some popular bakeries around here, but they are not flavorful enough for me. So I made a chocolate cake based on the recipe from an old Gourmet magazine. The recipe had only vegetable oil. Vegetable oil makes cakes soft and fluffy, but not tasty enough. So I replaced some of it with butter. Also I skipped some of the sugar and salt. When I use recipes from the US, I’m always cautious about the amount of sugar and salt, and I skip some of them most of the time. Also I choose good chocolate. The cake turned out to be so soft/moist and delicious. And my craving for chocolate cakes has been gone.
