After a safeworkng stop, Australian National 1067mm gauge locomotives NJ6/872 pull away from the isolated crossing loop at Wanilla, on the Eyre Peninsula (EP), with a loaded grain train heading to Port Lincoln for export.

NJ6 is one of a small class of six EMD-powered locos originally built by Clyde Engineering in 1971 for the Commonwealth Railways, for use on the railway to Alice Springs. It was transferred to the EP in 1980 and remains operational at Thevenard, but is likely to be retired later this year.

Major cuts to were made to the country passenger rail network in Victoria in July 1993. During the last month of operations of passenger services to Cobram, V/Line's N463 waits departure from the terminus for Melbourne on Monday 19 July 1993.
