This is a signed print of a watercolor by Maryland artist Harry Richardson of Eyler's Valley Chapel, a small Methodist church nestled in the Catoctin Mountains between Thurmont and Emmittsburg, Maryland.
Built in 1857, the church is lit by candlelight, as there is no electricity. A wonderful spot for small, simple weddings, the chapel is also filled to over-flowing at times during special holidays and several services leading up to Christmas Eve.
In 2007, the Eyler's Valley Chapel congregation celebrated its 150th anniversary with two special commemorative Harry Richardson prints, a cook book, and special events.
