This is a signed print of a watercolor of Rose Hill Manor in Frederick, Md.
Thomas Johnson, the first elected governor of Maryland(1777-1779) and delegate to the first Continental Congress, lived here in later life with his daughter Ann and her family until his death in 1819. It is written that George Washington visited Thomas Johnson many times here. Johnson had served under Washington in the Continental Army. Johnson was born in Calvert County, Md. in 1732.
On the grounds of Rose Hill Manor is a wonderful children's museum of colonial life as well as a farm and carriage museum. More info at
