" Sunday In The Park " Image size 15.75 x 22 inches. Frederick art.
This is a signed print of a painting by Maryland artist Harry Richardson of Carroll Creek in lovely Baker Park, a city park in Frederick, Maryland. Carroll Creek starts at springs at the edge of the mountains not far from where the Richardson brothers grew up and meanders through Frederick City on its way to the Monocacy River. The creek is named after Charles Carroll, early landholder and last living signer of the Declaration Of Independence. In the distance you can see the cupola of the old courthouse ( now City Hall ) and many of the famous church spires of Frederick.
Baker Park first came into being in 1927, when Joseph Dill Baker donated a large parcel of land to the city. To learn more about Baker Park visit this site
