One of the large meadows at RHS Hyde Hall had been mowed and they were busy getting the hay in before the weather changed! It was a wonderful sight in the late evening sunshine!

The Essex Wagon was used for carting heavy loads such as hay or straw, and famously appears in Constables's painting the 'Haywain'. This one is gently rotting away at RHS Hyde Hall.

After lunch at The Tiptree Lordship Tearooms NogBaad, Phelphaba and I went for a circular walk in Writtle Forest! We had some wonderful views of the big Essex sky!
