NogBaad and I have decided to walk the Thames Path and the Thames Estuary Path - not all at once, just in stages!

Today it was the section from RSPB Rainham Marshes to the Darford Crossing. At this time of year this section of the path seems to be a pretty bleak industrial landscape, but come spring and summer it will be teeming with wildlife - it's one of Essex's great wilderness places :-)

Huge numbers of Garden Snails (Cornu aspersum) were huddled together under the River Thames flood defence walls along the Thames Estuary Path today!

Apparently the correct name for a group of snails is a "Rout" of snails!
