This Harvestman was on the prowl at Canvey Wick Bug reserve. Usually I only see Harvestmen at rest on flowers, so it is great to see them on the move! I think this is the Harvestman Phalangium opilio, which feed on soft bodied insects! Canvey Wick is the only brownfield bug reserve in the UK. Described as "a brownfield rainforest" by Natural England officer Dr. Chris Gibson, survey results have shown Canvey Wick to support over 1,400 species of invertebrate! It's a great palce to visit!
